Tapulous Aiming for Cross Promotion Strategies in Disney Games
Perhaps you haven’t heard of it, but Tapulous is a well-known mobile game maker. Disney Entertainment bought it in July this year. Apparently, the acquisition was a move to create popular TAP TAP REVENGE franchise in form of music applications. These applications were made to work for the iPhone community and other popular gadget platforms. The end result was a well-established strategy for fledgling mobile gaming media.
Fast forward to December 2010 and you’re looking at Bart Decrem and Andrew Lacy (Tapulous’ Co-Founders), making efforts to shape Disney’s plan for mobile and social games. They wanted to reverse hundreds and millions of dollars that were lost, while trying to promote their so-called Tapulous gaming and music motives. The sales are not that bad, they’re going on a steady pace, which seems to have improved over the last few years.
The officials are expecting the sales to increase because of the expected 1 Million games to be sold by Tapulous next year. Last Christmas, Tapulous sold 800,000 games for the iPhone, iPad and the Android community. The Tap Tap Revenge mechanism is simple. Players have to tap the screen in time, whilst the music plays in the background.
