Apple announced its new MacBook Air today at a special “Back to the Mac” event in Cupertino. The Air will now be offered in two screen sizes, one with a 13.3-inch display, which is the same size as the previous generation, and a new even smaller version that will feature a 11.6-inch display. Steve Jobs is billing the new MacBooks as a marriage between a Macbook and an iPad. The two systems will feature five to seven hours of battery life, flash storage, and full-sized keyboards and track pads. They go on sale today and prices start at $999.
